She co-wrote the script and also produced the music for this film. Gifford gives support to many organizations for children, such as Childhelp. She also supports an organization called the Association to Benefit Children, that was the source of Cassidy's Place. An ardent humanitarian, she was awarded an honorary degree from Marymount University for her humanitarian work in labor relations.
